Since it arrived in the UK earlier this year, top TV talent show The Voice, has caught the public's imagination. A search to find the most gifted new singer in the country, it has billed itself from the start as a more music focused contest than The X Factor and has lived up to that promise all the way. Most important to The Voice is the role of the judges/ coaches who pick, groom and motivate the young contestants in their quest for the title of Best New Voice in Britain. Between them the four judges come with tonnes of star quality and musical pedigree – Jessie J, Tom Jones, Danny O'Donoghue and Will.I.Am.
Over at William Hill betting is fierce not just on the outright winner of the series but on who the winning coach will be too. Each of these musical heavyweights has picked ten acts as part of their team, but only one act can come out triumphant. So which coach do you think has what it takes to send their performers to the top?
Right now William Hill has Will.I.Am pegged as the clear favourite at odds of 7/4. The Black Eyed Peas
front-man has made a career out of unearthing and promoting new talent, his celebrated proté
gés including Fergie and LMFAO, and he has impressed with his picks since the start of the contest. Second favourite is UK hit queen Jessie J at 9/4. Many have speculated as to how much of Jessie and Will's onscreen rivalry is for the camera. Jessie herself has dismissed claims of a major rift between the two, calling their back and forth teasing “silly”. Maybe, or maybe the pressure of the contest has the two boiling over.
The third priced judge is the charming The Script lead singer O'Donoghue at 5/2, with Tom Jones priced at a pretty generous 9/2. Both those odds are well worth a punt for fans of these two Celtic front men. Though they may not have stolen the limelight quite as quickly as Jessie and Will, they both have some terrific talent in their teams and this early in the competition, anything could happen.
If you have a favourite judge or reckon you know who is set to take the title, why not pop over to William Hill
and add a bit of extra flavour to this year's most exciting singing show?
